We are changing energy efficiency and automation, shaping the future of smart buildings.
Home » About us
In recent years the market has shown a growing need to make smart management processes more efficient through single-board hardware such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi. These systems are open source: their strength is integration with other electronic systems that can improve efficiency and industrial automation. For this reason, the founding team of ETECH LAB s.r.l. wants to fill a gap in a market where demand for smart building systems has grown almost exponentially, also driven by public measures aimed at steering several sectors (above all construction) towards a green transition.
To build building automation and IoT systems with open-source components that free users and customers from the constraints the market places on products today; to protect privacy by keeping all data flows under the user’s exclusive control; to let anyone with the necessary know-how manage, integrate and create new applications based on our products; to increase perceived value compared with products that do similar jobs; and to teach users the value of free software compared with commercial, proprietary solutions.
To be a leader in technological innovation, offering building automation and IoT systems based on open-source components, and promoting freedom, privacy and user empowerment.
Applying artificial intelligence (AI) to Building and Energy Management makes it possible to automatically optimise energy consumption. These technologies can forecast peaks in energy demand and adjust the systems accordingly, ensuring the greatest possible energy savings.
Integrating IoT devices into modern buildings has changed the way we manage and monitor energy performance. Sensors and connected actuators allow real-time control of lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, optimising energy use.
Smart buildings use automation systems to control the indoor environment. Using advanced algorithms, these systems can adapt automatically to outdoor conditions and to user preferences, further improving energy efficiency.
Integrating renewable energy sources such as solar and wind into buildings reduces dependence on traditional energy sources. Microgrids allow buildings to operate more autonomously, generating, storing and managing their own energy.
In this section you will find answers to the most common questions from users and customers about our solutions for building automation, IoT and smart energy management.
ETECH LAB specialises in developing building automation and IoT systems using open-source components. This approach lets us offer solutions that are flexible, customisable and free from the constraints typical of off-the-shelf products, promoting technological independence and innovation.
Yes. Anyone with the technical know-how can customise, integrate and develop new applications based on our open-source products. This openness to innovation is key to encouraging creativity and to adapting the solutions to users’ specific needs.
Our systems stand out for their higher perceived value, thanks to high performance, low costs and greater energy efficiency. By teaching users the value of free software compared with proprietary solutions, we also aim to bring about a paradigm shift in the sector, towards greater transparency and customisation.
ETECH LAB works with major companies in the sector such as Siemens Building Technologies, Sauter, Trend Controls Honeywell, Schneider and Zettler/Tyco under control. These partnerships are the result of our long experience and allow us to offer cutting-edge, high-quality solutions.
